i don't disagree with you. what i'm saying is, as a society, as a place were where can all live together, without violence, is a place we probably won't get to.

between the time i wrote this and now, i have been thoroughly disgusted by the acts of the police, and of those who are trying to incite rioting.

i'm all for moving forward. 100%. i just found out that my high school (that i graduated from back in the 80s), a magnate public school, and one of the top schools in the state, one where white students were only about 25% of the make up, this week got caught up in a scandal where racist remarks were being made to the students of color and online bullying was happening.

it wasn't like this back when i graduated. we had our cliques and whatnot, but we mostly got along with each other and if one of our felloew classmates had a problem, we all helped out. this has become a microcosim of our countyr as a whole and it's a goddamn shame.

there's the cliché that time heals all wounds. it doesn't. not when we have constant beatings and killings. it can't and shouldn't.

i hope we can move forward, grow, learn tolerance, patience, compassion, all the things that we can to live peacefully together. the events currently happening are start.

but it's hard to change generations of ingrained hatred and fear.
